On April 10th, ReliantSouth held its 4th Annual Day at the Ballpark at Gulf Coast State College. The ReliantSouth team, friends & family gathered at Bill Frazier Field to enjoy watching the Commodores defeat the Northwest Florida State College Raiders by a score of 9-1. Thanks to all who attended and we look forward to next year!
On March 8th, ReliantSouth Construction Group held the ceremonial ground breaking for the $1.3M Hope Radiation Center Expansion Project. ReliantSouth was selected as the Construction Manager by Dr. Hasan Murshed. The project will enable Dr. Murshed and his team to offer expanded services and care to his many patients throughout Northwest Florida.

ReliantSouth was recently selected to serve as the Construction Manager for a 7,235 sf retail building located on Panama City Beach. The project is being facilitated for a repeat client which is a testimony to the ReliantSouth team’s focus on client satisfaction. When complete, the building will house two (2) separate tenant spaces. The project is currently tracking well and will be complete summer 2017.
Starting on Monday January 23rd at 6:30 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Blvd., Team ReliantSouth will be teaching a six week Intro to Construction course on Monday nights through February 27th.
ReliantSouth President Richard Dodd was moved to start this training program in 2015 after hearing a sermon about the life of Martin Luther King. In Dr. King’s famous letter written from a Birmingham jail, it was stressed that all mankind should be involved in making a better society. Feeling this calling coupled with the fact that the entire construction industry is starved for workers, ReliantSouth developed the program and ultimately teamed with the LEAD Coalition, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and Gulf Coast State College. To date this training program has graduated 46 individuals in the four previous offerings of this course.
ReliantSouth’s President, Richard Dodd, has served as the fundraising chairman for Bay District Schools’ Academic Fairs for the past nine (9) consecutive years. During Richard’s tenure as chairman, a total of $134,690 has been raised for these vital enrichment programs.
Suzanne Farrar, Director of Secondary & Adult Instructional Services for Bay District Schools, stated, “Thank you so much for your continued support of our academic fairs. As you well know, these programs would not exist without the support of our community. Hundreds of students will once again have the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills through the Math Counts competition, Three Rivers Science Fair and History Fair. Bay District Schools is blessed to have community members like you and many others who believe in our students.”
ReliantSouth is proud to welcome Al Harris to the team. Al has over thirty (30) years experience in the construction industry, working across the world on both military and private industry projects. He is a State of Florida Certified Unlimited Electrical Contractor and has extensive hands on experience in the electrical trade. Al has been married to his wife Martha for 37 years and enjoys flying and backpacking.
In response to a recent client survey, Panama City Port Authority rated ReliantSouth’s work on the Refrigerated Container Stacking Project as “absolutely exceptional”. This unique $1.4M project served to assist the Port in their abilities in offloading cargo ships and maintaining refrigeration capabilities prior to shipment. In recent years, the Port has invested over $50 million in new facilities and equipment and has committed to another $35 million in improvements over the next five years. Panama City’s location provides a Gulf coast gateway to shippers and consignees in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. ReliantSouth is proud to have served the Port successfully and applauds their significant contributions to and investment in our community.
ReliantSouth has been selected to facilitate the construction of Dr. Anish Patel’s PC Smiles Dental Clinic in Panama City, FL. Dr. Patel’s existing practice has experienced significant growth which in turn created a need for additional space. ReliantSouth is breaking ground currently and looks forward to building the new facility in the growing Downtown revitalization area.
The Florida Commissioner of Education, Pam Stewart, recently recognized ReliantSouth Construction Group by naming them as a recipient of the 2016 Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award. The award is given to only fifty (50) businesses throughout Florida to acknowledge their extraordinary contributions to public education.
